CNC Machining

CNC is the abreviation for Computer Numerical Control.  CNC machines are capable of performing tasks that were traditionally done on conventional machine tools or by hand; essentially all kinds of milling, drilling, reaming, tapping, boring, and counter boring.  A CNC machine is capable of holding a variety of tool bits and changing its own bits for different types of tasks.

The part or component to be fabricated is designed on the computer using a CAD program.  A CNC program in simplicity is a series of commands that specifies which cutter is used and which path to take. The program file is transferred to the machine, the part is setup and the program is run.  The process is easy to duplicate providing consistent parts and reduce scrap.

Wilt Manufacturing, LLC uses Milltronics & Fadal CNC machining centers and a multi-axis Eurotech SwissTurn to achieve part consistency and finishes approved by some of the most discerning customers.
