EDM or Electrical Discharge Machining is one of the most accurate processes available for cutting complex shapes and geometries.  Wire EDM technology involves a wire electrode, liquid and the part.  The cutting path is created on a computer and then transferred to the Wire EDM machine.  The part is connected to the machines power supply and submersed into the liquid, the wire electrode on the machine creates an arc which cuts through the conductive metal like a controlled hot knife in butter.  The wire can rotate on several axis to provide tapers and a smooth finish.  The liquid is circulated to clear away the tiny debris and keep the part cool.

Wire EDM technology produces a consistent, reproducable, precision part.  In conjuction with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), parts can be aligned to minimize scrap, reduce cutting time and often save clients money over other machining methods.
